I am originally from the U.K., and I work with English speaking adult clients. I am a Masters qualified Counsellor based in Lisbon, Portugal, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My background includes two decades working in senior corporate leadership roles in Europe, U.S.A., and Asia. I am also a father of two young children with personal experience of the highs and lows of parenthood. I have a deep understanding of the challenges of expatriate living, coupled with fatherhood and managing a demanding career. Having lived in Singapore, U.K., and Portugal, I have a personal understanding of adjusting to new cultures and environments.
My professional experiences include supporting adults coping with difficult life experiences, including relationship issues, parenting challenges, work-related stress and career coaching. My counselling areas of focus are anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, relationship issues and boarding school experiences. I am an empathetic, supportive and client centred counsellor, and I aim to provide a calm, safe and supportive space for clients to talk through and process their experiences.
I am passionate about supporting clients to build self-awareness and develop skills to address the specific issues they are experiencing. I practice an integrative counselling method, tailoring my approach to focus on the specific needs of the client by applying Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.
